We recommend creating a wrapper in your own API around our API, so you can keep all payments under control and build your own system based on our payments.

Alternatively, you can use hostedUrl, which is our hosted page that accepts PayPal payments and sends notifications to your webhook.

To accept PayPal payments with Zelling, you have two options:

Wrapper / Your Own Integration (Recommended)

Call Zelling API (POST /payments with "method": "paypal") from your backend.

Build your own payment flow in your app using the returned data.

Handle webhooks to confirm status changes (NEW, PARTIALLY_PAID, CONFIRMED).

This gives you full control over payments and allows you to unify your system.

Redirect to hostedUrl (Simplest option)

After creating a payment, use the returned hostedUrl.

Redirect your customer to this secure page where they finish the PayPal checkout.

Webhooks will notify you about the status automatically.

Example Flow:

User selects PayPal as the payment method.

Your backend calls Zelling API (POST /payments with "method": "paypal").

Zelling returns tid and hostedUrl.

You can either:

(Recommended) Use your own wrapper around the API and build your own checkout flow.

(Easy) Redirect the customer directly to hostedUrl.

Zelling sends webhook events when payment status updates.
